Tuesday Trends: Ikat

(I know this is a late Tuesday Trend post…but I’m not a girl who gives up easily).

You know how you go to your hair stylist, decide to try something a bit new or different, and are not impressed by what you see in the mirror? But then you get home, look at it some more, play with your hair and then decide “You know…I kind of like this.” Well, that’s how I feel about the current Ikat trend. At first, it didn’t do anything for me. But the more I see this design and learn about it…the more I like it.

Ikat, pronounced ee-kaht (apparently I have been pronouncing this incorrectly), has been around FOREVER. Like try the mid- 1800′s. This is one reason why I began to like this trend; history once again repeats itself.

Here are some beautiful representations of the Ikat pattern…enjoy!

Oh…and I just ordered a cute Ikat scarf from Old Navy for only $9!!!
Who says you can’t be trendy on a budget?

So, what do you think? Will you be adding any Ikat patterns to your home or closet?

Thanks for stopping by!
